Volunteer to uplift the street children of South Sudan

As conflict ravages the young country of South Sudan, children are frequently left vulnerable to abuse and lack proper care.

Homelessness among children is a particularly acute problem in South Sudan, with many of them living in the streets, cemeteries, markets, etc. They are often subject to violence and exploitation - in some cases even by their family members.

In 2007, Confident Children out of Conflict (CCC) was founded by Cathy Groenendijk and several other South Sudanese volunteers who were eager to do all in their power to help street children in Juba, South Sudan, and provide them with a safe shelter and a community in which they could thrive.

In the past decade, the organization has grown, and with the help of its volunteers has thus far helped dozens of South Sudanese children.

CCC provide a safe space for homeless children to live in, and in cases where it is in the best interest of the child - help them reunite with their family.

CCC also organize educational activities, fundraise to help children attend school, and organize recreational and extracurricular activities in order to enrich the kids, help them explore their passions and interests, and grant them a sense of community.

Furthermore, CCC assist children in accessing healthcare services and engage in dedicated advocacy efforts on their behalf, including workshops designated to raise awareness of homelessness and gender-based violence in local communities.

If you feel inclined to extend a helping hand to the children of South Sudan, and contribute your skills towards their development, please do check out the volunteer programs offered by CCC.
